We begin the year happy and excited as we look back and think about the years that have passed since we opened the first Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo on Carrer de Can Sanç.
Our oldest establishment has been a silent witness to the evolution of Palma, a place where generations of Mallorcans have left their mark and shared countless moments within its walls.
A mirror that has seen it all
On one of the walls of our oldest location, on Can Sanç street, hangs a mirror that has been reflecting the life that unfolds around it for decades. This mirror has witnessed thousands of people: from the first customers who tried our almond ice cream to the families who now celebrate their birthdays with us. Each face reflected in its surface tells a small story, a chapter in the life of our city.
More than just a chocolate shop: a meeting place
Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo is a gathering space for all those from La Roqueta.
Artists, workers, intellectuals, tourists, and entire local families have passed through our tables, whether by chance or recommendation, stepping into this place that still preserves its essence from the beginning.
Over the centuries, Palma has changed a great deal, and few things have remained unchanged. We are incredibly proud to have a piece of Palma’s tradition on Can Sanç street because some customs should not be lost, like enjoying a hot chocolate in winter or refreshing yourself from the summer heat with an almond ice cream that you never want to end.
These customs, deeply rooted in our culture, have served as a thread that has connected generations of people from Palma.
At Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo, we’ve been part of this evolution. We’ve seen the city grow, how customs have changed, and how society has transformed. But despite all these changes, we’ve always kept our essence, our passion for offering a quality product and a personal service.
Today, Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo continues to be a reference for Mallorcan gastronomy. But we don’t settle for living in the past. We continue to innovate, looking for new flavors and combinations, always respecting our tradition.
Come visit us and create your own moment at Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo while discovering that it’s much more than just a chocolate shop. It’s a journey through time, a tribute to tradition, and a celebration of life.
We look forward to continuing to write the history of Palma and to being witnesses of your experiences.
